Long Island-based alternative outfit has announced “LP5,” their first album since 2009’s “Daisy.”
In typical Brand New fashion, the announcement was made in a fashion what was neither clear nor descript post across their social media platforms. Along with the announcement for the album, a presale for the album’s vinyl was made available, which sold out within 30 minutes.
Along with the new album announcement, the band also announced an upcoming tour in the United States and United Kingdom. While the tour was announced “with special guests,” there was no indication as to who the supporting band would be.
Although they have not released a full-length album since 2009, Brand New has released demos and singles in recent years, including the single “I Am a Nightmare,” which is for sale on vinyl.
Last year, the band caused some controversy with a T-shirt that read “2000-2018,” which hinted to the band’s demise in 2018 as they had formed in 2000. Although this hasn’t bee confirmed, the shirt along with the nine-year delay in the album release could signal the last hurrah for Brand New.
