Disney has secured their lead actress in their upcoming live-adaptation of Beauty and the Beast.

Emma Watson (Harry Potter series) has been cast as Belle, the young woman imprisoned in the Beast’s castle.

The upcoming musical will be directed by Bill Condon (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn) and written by Stephen Chbosky, who worked with Watson in The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

To prepare for the role, Watson has began taking dance and vocal lessons. Currently, the films has no official release date.

The film is another in a series of live-adaptation remakes by Disney. The animated version of Beauty and the Beast, released in 1991, was the first ever animated film to receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture.
