Brooklyn Nets forward Mirza Teletovic is out for the remainder of the season after doctors diagnosed him with multiple blood clots in his lungs.
Teletovic, 29, left Thursday night’s 123-84 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers after experiencing shortness of breath and was taken to the hospital. At the hospital, Teletovic underwent a series of test that revealed the clots.
For now, Teletovic will remain in Los Angeles and receive medical treatment, including blood thinners, until he is medically cleared to return to the New York area.
Teletovic ends the season, his third in the NBA, with 8.5 points and 4.9 rebounds in 40 games. One of the Nets top bench players, with Teletovic out of the lineup, Alan Anderson and Sergey Karasev will likely see an increase in playing time.
