While on a break with their co-headlining tour with Third Eye Blind, Dashboard Confessional frontman Chris Carrabba confirmed with EW that the band will release another album.
“It feels like we’re eager to write, which means there’s probably a new record coming out,” Carrabba said to EW. “Who am I kidding? There’s a new record coming.”
Dashboard Confessional has not released an album since 2009’s “After the Ending.” Since then, the band has remained relative inactive. Their debut album, “The Swiss Army Romance” was re-released in 2010 and Carrabba did a solo tour in support of the re-release.
Carrabba also announced he has no intention of changing the band’s mellow, acoustic rock sound.
The album will be the Dashboard Confessional’s seventh full-length since their inception in 1999. At the moment, there is no timeline for release, but given that the band is on tour until the end of July and have nothing written so far, the earliest expected release date would be at the beginning of 2016.
